PAULA LUCAS
ART DIRECTOR & GAMES ARTIST

Senior/Principal 3D Art Role Application!
Hi, Panic Stations team!
I'm Paula and when I saw the post about Panic Stations hiring, I immediately wanted to throw my hat in the ring to be considered to be a part of your new team! I love creating fun, stylised work and hoped that I might be a good fit! I'm interested in the Senior/ Principal Generalist 3D Artist position that you have advertised.
Thanks for taking the time to read my application and any questions please get in touch at contact@paulalucasart.com.
Stylised Character Models
All models and props shown here are designed, modelled, textured and animated by me unless otherwise stated.
Animals

Low-poly 3D models made in Blender, handpainted textures in Photoshop.

Bearded vulture animation loop.

Created a non-humanoid Vtuber character for a client. Made in Blender, exported via Unity, live tracked in this video with VSeeFace.
Characters
"Dungeon Golf" is a family friendly couch + online co-op game where you play mini-golf in a dungeon with a cast of silly fantasy characters. I was Art Lead for this title and my responsibilities included setting and creating the art direction for the game, providing concept art for the team and feedback including paintovers, as well as making some characters, enemies and props myself from concept through to implementation in engine.

Early character concept for the Necromancer. Complete with annoying enchanted skull who is used as the Necromancers golf club! Sculpted in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter with retopology and animation created in Blender.

Special ability animation and death animation.
Creatures
Below is a selection of enemies created for the project. We needed classic feeling enemies that felt like they would be at home in a dungeon environment.

Slime enemy animations in Blender then created the shader for the creature in Unity.
Game Jam Character

Made for Global Game Jam 2020.

Concept Sheets

Using Blender for quick modelling then painting over the assets I created these concept sheets for the 3D modellers on the team for different biomes.
Additional Props & Models

A couple of "Dungeon Golf" props modelled in Blender, baked + painted in Substance.
